Hey besties,
My feeds are spiraling with AI content experiments this week. Some disclosed, some… not so much. Here's what made it into the group chat:
🎙 The AI Files: The newest top-10 podcast is a deep dive into 3 million Epstein files and drops two eps a day. It’s also created entirely by AI (you can thank Adam Levy). The Epstein Files totally flips the narrative that "human storytelling prevails in the age of AI" with a 4.4-star rating and 700k downloads.
My thoughts: Be wary of brushing this off as a gimmick. If people consume it (and they are)… the AI-generated content will continue.
📰 Speaking of AI experiments with no editorial input: May I present… AgentCrunch, "a live experiment in autonomous journalism". Do you think your clients will be as excited to get in here as they are TechCrunch? 🙃 (h/t David Cendón Garcia)
📊 Comms Means Business: A recent study from Northwestern of 125 senior exec pros is speaking my truth. Being a comms leader means being a business leader. Hard. Stop.

Source: Northwestern University’s The Medill CCO Monitor
Oh, and data also found “strategic business thinking and financial acumen” is the thing your CCO thinks you suck the most at (76% said it's what senior leaders need to develop most.) OTR members - I got you on this, full workshop on tying comms to business value coming in April.
📈 While you're feeling valued: Bookmark this Gartner report predicting PR and media budgets will 2x in the next 2 years thanks to GEO. That's a prediction I think we’d all like to see come true. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
🤯 “The most useful time I've spent on how to think differently about AI in Comms. Mind Blown.”: OK this wasn't from a group chat, but it was from my Vibe Code sesh chat. It was 🔥 so I added some more dates ICYMI.

PS: Last week’s most-clicked was Anne Helen Peterson’s rebuttal to that infamous "Something Big is Happening” AI article.
You're reading the Comms Bestie Group Chat, a free weekly drop to 5,000+ comms pros. Off the Record is the membership behind the group chat: 200+ comms leaders getting training, coaching, and community. It’s where the magic happens. ✨
